Hello, stranger. Yes, it’s been a while, long enough that WordPress probably forgot my password too. But I’m back, and this time I actually mean to post more regularly (I know I’ve said that before, but let’s just enjoy the optimism while it lasts).

To kick things off properly, here’s a swan I took on a wander round Stowe Gardens, on my iPhone 17, holding my breath as it sailed across my field of view. Somehow, though, it came out rather nice with dark green ripples and a great reflection, the kind of photo that makes you briefly believe you might have a talent for this.
I showed it to my boss when he sent me a meme about new iPhones, and he liked it enough to ask if he could print it for the office. Naturally I pictured something modest tucked discreetly near the kettle. Instead, it is now a 1.7 metre by 1 metre canvas, hanging proudly opposite the snack cupboard (so visible to everyone as that’s the busiest bit of the building). It’s somewhat larger than I am, and considerably more composed than am before coffee. So, if nothing else, my triumphant return to blogging comes with proof that it’s the simple moments that can turn out good.
