After playing around with this site in a basic way over the last few days I’ve decided to be more serious about it. So the first thing I’ve decided to go is give it a face lift. Using one of the standard themes as a base I’m indulging in some customisation

Already done

• Change the color palette: now it’s a world of purple
• Change fonts used. Now using a script font for the header and better serif / sans-serif choices for the main content
• Create background image: I’m using a wide (1600px) flower and vine image designed to be fixed to the top of the page against a dark purple background
• Remove image separating days as it just didn’t go. Using a dark border under the date instead

Still to do

• Widen the layout; at the same time increase the basic font size as it feels a bit small
• Use an image within the masthead
• Improve separation of different posts within a day

In war, then, let your great object be victory, not lengthy campaigns.
