A back street in Arles. Photo taken in June 2009 with my Sony A200.
Just before this was taken I was stopped and asked for directions. By a French couple. I guess I didn’t look that touristy! Luckily I had been by the place they were looking for and in my schoolgirl French managed to explain how to get there.Category: Uncategorized

Tiltshift photo of a Dublin cafe/bar
Found this high angle shot I’d taken of a cafe / bar in Dublin several years ago. Seemed a good one to try out with the tiltshift iPhone app. Think it’s turned out quite well.

View from Muncaster Castle towards Lake District
via flickr.comThis photo was taken on 21st May 2009. Whilst the weather in the Lakes (I was staying at Windermere) was grey with showers it really brightened up once you hit the coast.
Muncaster Castle was a great place to visit. The views towards the high peaks of the western Lake District were stunning, particularly when contrasted with the late Spring colours of the gardens with their acers and rhododendrons.

Wilfred Owens on Poetry and War
This book is not about heroes. English Poetry is not yet fit to speak of them.
Nor is it about deeds, or lands, nor anything about glory. honour, might, majesty, dominion, or power, except War.
Above all I am not concerned with Poetry.
My subject is War, and the pity of War,
The Poetry is in the pity.

Photo of Grand Canal in Venice
Taken a few years ago on my second trip to Venice using an Olympus U750Z. Didn’t last long as my camera as the images I took with it often felt grey.
This was run through CameraBag on the iPhone using the ColorCross filter. Now it resembles a 1950’s postcard. -

Tuscany photo – mountains, clouds & steam
via flickr.comPosting a photo I took a couple of years ago in Italy. In northern Tuscany paper mills are a pretty common sight. In the morning the steam from them fills the valleys with low swirls of mist. From the walls of a ruined castle this view just carried on forever
