Photo was taken in Berwick upon Tweed whilst walking around the ramparts that surround the town. The contrast of the pink blossom and blue sky was beautiful.

Photo: puffins on the Farne Islands
Last Friday I took a boat trip to the Farne Islands. I’ve never seen so many birds in one place. I have a lot of photos which will mostly end up on flickr but @markfoster11 requested puffins so that’s the first picture released.

Photo: beacon and blue skies at Berwick upon Tweed
Travelled to Berwick today and there’s sun and blue skies. The ramparts of this walled town give great views down to Holy Island

Photo: Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island
Travelled north from Alnwick to Holy Island. The weather brightened and we had blue skies and great views whilst walking around.
Managed to get off the island before the tide came in over the causeway too! -
Photo: Cragside House
Been to Kielder Water and stopped off on the way back at Cragside House. Really pretty and eccentrically Victorian featuring the first electric lights and hydroelectric power.

Photo: The Angel of the North
Stopped here on the way from Durham to Alnwick. It’s really impressive when you’re close to it but I’m still not entirely convinced by the wings.
